Home Gym
After being inspired by movie stars and social media influencers for years I decided to give physical exercise a try, my cousin brother’s wedding was three months down the lane and it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to test my discipline. Now the difficult part was to decide which gym, when to workout and will I be able to control my vices. (“You can’t out-exercise a bad diet”).
Knowing that this is not easy I decided to first test myself and started working out at home. I started doing 25 Surya Namaskars everyday after I returned from college. Then after a couple of weeks and countless YouTube videos (AthleanX — The Best) I decided to work out at home till December and if I’m able to keep up this new regimen then joining a gym would be a mundane idea.
With a little over two months to my brother’s wedding I downloaded a home workout app and started working out for an hour, 5 times a week (alternate cardio days). Soon I started to see results and then it was time for my first shirtless mirror selfie. (Hit me up if you want a taste *wink*)
Gradually I reduced my eating habits at night (again AthleanX to the rescue) and in 6 weeks I had lost 2 kgs (and of course gained muscle mass). People started noticing my improved physique and some were curious about my home workout routine. The year (2015) ended on a high note with praises from friends and family and then I decided to continue the same workout regimen.
The past two years I’ve been irregular with my workouts, with some very important issues taking the higher priority. However this year I decided to make fitness a priority, with more time in hand and unlimited fitness videos and apps to help anyone who's determined. I got back in shape in 5 months and this time it's more than just a "fling", it's a lifestyle.
