New Year, Newthin

Another year has passed by – The first few words of every classic clichéd New Year’s shit post. To you, it is another article but to me it’s a chance to look back at all the things that has  happened during the year. It might not be the most entertaining thing to you. If you don’t like it, don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you. By the way, its’ been more than 100 days since I last wrote anything but this will hopefully get me back on my feet with respect to writing. As far as other areas are concerned, this year has surprisingly treated me well. Getting into my very first job and thereby getting an opportunity to stay in a new city has been promising. Living by yourself helps you see things the small things that you had earlier chosen to overlook. You start realising the amount of effort that your mum and dad put into raising you. You wake up hungry at 11 in the morning after a tired day and you realise how millions of people do the same without having a choice. For someone that...

The Writer's Right Hand

His ink bleeds, Bleeds as fast as a wrist that's been slit, I try to find the blots on his empty sheet,  He keeps evolving as I watch him flee, His right hand moves elegantly like waves in a fisherman's dream. Envy can't be a sin. I observe, I observe with the eyes that looks down on the one that owns them but reflects the praise of the wizards, such a disloyal tool, playing blind to the magic of the host. I follow the right hand like a stalker follows his out-of-league, Do my fingers belong to the game he's mastering? I can wait to find out but I cannot wait, But my restless mind needs to be reminded that his fingers feared someone else's, and almost every human has fingers, Eyes can lie, so can a finger,  But ink cannot as long as it doesn't linger. - Pranav Radee

Arise

The day is about to end,  The curtains are about to fall, you've finished playing the role of "Mr.Totally-okay", The lights turn on and you look around only to see no one to deafen your ears with applause, You think "That's how it's been until date", But I'm proud of you, you've made it past yet another day, You look at the other players who always win applauds, who make it look so effortless to get past every day and every play, The metaphor starts making sense to you, "All The World's A Stage". What do you do if you don't like the role you play, You feel your role is too insignificant in the bigger picture, But I'm here to tell you that you are the bigger picture, your own bigger picture, Remind yourself you can't always choose your role but you can always choose your play, A play that will make sense to you,  A play that's tailor-made for you,  A play only you can put up, Ch...

Our Holy Secret

"Child, it's alright. Lord works in mysterious ways, but he will set it all right." "But how can he , Father. Dad beat me mum again, he threatened to kill me and he's off drinking away again." It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, it was just the two of us, the pastor and I. An eternal twinkle in his eyes, a loving smile and a kind heart, He was like a Father I never had He was like a friend that I always wanted this kind old man. none disliked the man of God, nor did I. And then .. "My child, let me drive your fear away, for you are my dearest . Let me make you feel safe, let me make you feel special, for you are my dearest. Let the Lord work his magic through me, but remember : This is our secret, and our secret alone...." As my eyes met his, I saw a glint of greedy red flash in his eyes, something unfamiliar, something sinister in the way his hand grabbed my shoulder, A shiver ran down my spine, but none disliked the man of God, nor did I. Our ...

The Christmas Walk

The last traces of the sun just sank in Making way for the alluring dark. A long road ahead, hardly that bothers me . There is no sign of the living out here , I can hear my footsteps loud and clear, At every heavy step I take , Down the alley. I can hear me breathing The Gods of Silence screaming in my ears. I wish it would stop, It leaves me distressed, But on I walk, oblivious to everything. Trying. Ah, there it is, the sound of the Christmas carols from the church down the alley. Neither heard them, nor went there, not since they left me. Not since …. Pictures of you, memories of you, ones I could not erase, Clouding inside, But on I walk, oblivious to everything . Trying . It’s getting darker now My legs ache from all the walking, Tired , like I always have been. Noticing an empty bench, I sat. There is still no sign of the living , No Visible lights in houses nearby, No sign of movement, nothing to suggest happy families celebrating the holy ni...

Lips Of Stone

Your eyes, brimming with life. Your lips, soft and red. Your voice, clear as crystal. A true beauty in all sense, this world and out. Such a shame, for you do no good to me alive. And you fight against my dagger, fighting for the life you so crave for, Why? This is your fate, let it happen, my love, let it happe--- I SAID STOP FIGHTING BITCH!! In a flash your throat is slit, and all I see, all you see is your blood dripping down. Watching you struggle like a slaughtered pig choking, gasping for air you don't need, fear spread across your face. Blood dripping from the tip of the euphoric silver, each drop breaking the growing silence, A smile creeping across my face in exhilaration , in growing anticipation, waiting.... Darling, let me show you my love, Let me come inside you. You look so frightened, so distressed, yet you don't oppose me now as I stroke your hair, as I brush my lips against your lips of stone, as I strip you of your clothes. I cannot hold it in anymore. ...

Get a life [Part-2]

It was 2012 and I was so into League but nowhere close to being good. But a lot changed when I got invited to this type of game mode called the ‘Ranked game’. These ranked games are meant to be more competitive and the result of the games mattered, unlike the regular games that players usually played. So, basically, the first ten ranked games decides how good you are and then puts you in different tiers based on the outcome of these games. Then, you’ll have to win games consecutively to earn ‘Ladder Points’ and climb tiers. I clearly did not know anything about this. Being the kid I was, I thought I could just boss my way through these “noobs” and win games. Turns out that I was the noob. Joke’s on me! These games were far more competitive and gave you that extra added motivation to win games. Even though I was bad, I was one hell of a competitive mother fucker. I used to play 10 games a day and would probably end up winning like two or three games a day, four if I was lucky. Bu...
